Q – What is an Interim Payment?
A – An Interim Payment is an amount of money paid to you in partial settlement of your claim for compensation. Interim Payments can be made for a variety of reasons including:
1. Where your symptoms have not fully resolved and it would be unwise to try and fully value your claim until you have fully recovered
2. Agreement cannot be reached over how much your claim is worth
3. Payment is needed in advance for further medical treatment
Once your claim has been fully settled, the interim payment amount will be deducted from the amount agreed and you will receive the balance of the amount agreed.
