It is possible for the terms of somebody’s Will (or the intestacy provisions) to be changed. This is done by the drawing up a document known as a Deed of Variation. However, this must be done within two years of somebody dying and all of those beneficiaries whose entitlement is going to change must agree. A Deed of Variation is not possible if it will adversely affect the entitlement of minor beneficiaries.
